Thursday dawned with intermittent rain, which dampened the cars, but not our spirits. A Covered Bridge tour was planned for us, that led through rolling hills and along back-country roads. We traveled south of Gettysburg, crossing numerous covered bridges into Frederick, MD, a historic town with a Civil War history all its own. Lunch awaited in the garden of a Civil War era home turned restaurant, complete with wait staff in period costumes. |
